History of the Former Location and Business

In 1975, My father Fred J. Hughes Jr. Started a company

in Grantville Pa. called Bowhunters Discount Warehouse.

His Philosophy was simple

Customer satisfaction, Great Prices and lots of

Inventory are the three most important factors for

the growth of a business and to sustain that business for

the Future.

In the Many years to follow, Bowhunters Warehouse Inc. grew

to be the Largest Single Retailer of Archery supplies

in the World.

Over 5,000,000 orders were shipped to the many hundreds

of thousands of customers.

Bowhunters Moved to Wellsville in 1978 and grew into 6 new buildings

encompassing almost 40,000 square feet, including a Retail Archery Showroom

that served 35,000 customers per year.

Everyone Knew of our Business

In September of 1981 Fred J. Hughes Jr. sold his interest in Bowhunters

to Shaun F. Hughes ( my brother ) and two partners.

After 15 years of Success, Shaun sold out his interest to his partners

and left Bowhunters Warehouse Inc.

Several years later the Company went out of Business.....

End of Story..... Almost

Two Years ago  a 4 day public sale  was held to Liquidate

all remaining items at the Bowhunters Location,

myself Mark A. Hughes and My Wife Sherry L. Hughes were

very upset at what had happened to My Family's Business, We listened to hundreds of

customers tell us how they cannot believe Bowhunters was closed.

That was It.... The Final Straw !

After That episode we Decided to Purchase the Bowhunters Warehouse Buildings in

February of 2005,   We remodeled

the inside and the outside over the last 12 months and plan to reopen  as

Bowhunters Superstore Inc. May 01, 2006

 We are dedicated to make all former customers of Bowhunters Warehouse

happy once again.  Guaranteed... By US.

We were lucky enough to hire Randy Krysher, a former manager for 20 years.

Randy will be the General Manager  of Bowhunters Superstore,

he brings many years of professional abilities in the Archery Industry.

Many other Employees have contacted us  and will be hired as time progresses.

Rent was only $ 40 per month. U.P.S. Was only .80 cents for a 1 pound package.

We moved to Middletown a year later, and then to Highspire Pa. in 1977.
